Under the Illinois State Dental Practice Act, as a
State Licensed Dentist, since 1984, Dr. Taiba
Nasreen wishes to inform all patients and parents
that orthodontics remains an elective procedure in
modern dentistry, chosen to straighten teeth
and improve smiles.
Patients
are required to be cooperative and maintain care of
their braces and daily oral hygiene. Regular visits to
the family dentist for check ups, cleanings and
fluoride treatments are also required.
Following are some of the inherent risks of
orthodontic treatment and limitations:
-
Relapse of teeth to original pretreatment
positions.
-
Shortening of roots of the teeth.
-
Enlargement of gums.
-
Non-eruption of teeth set deep in the jaw
bones.
-
Decalcified enamel due to poor oral
hygiene habits.
All Limitations Must Be Considered Before Start Of
Treatment.
